Rare Early Peasant Table
Ref: 3305
A rare early table from the mountains where the people lived in Medieval ways even into the 20th century - this table is really good condition for it's age and has legs of oak, a body of beechwood and a thick two plank walnut top. This top slides to open the "box" of the table. It's a typical type of table belonging to poor peasants living in small dwellings, the table is used to store food, prepare it, eat it - and even for other purposes, in some parts of Eastern Europe, these tables have magical properites and are known as birthing tables.
