Vintage Slip Trail Glazed Dish with Snake
Ref: 3033
Horezu is a village in Wallachia famed for its pottery and where distinctive slip trailed decoration was applied with quills, pig bristles and animal whiskers to plates. This plate is by a master potter and decorator, someone from the Iorga family perhaps, who were known to embellish their works with cockerels, snakes or fish.
