Lovely Painted Hook Rack with Birds
Ref: 2413
One place in the back of beyond somewhere in Eastern Europe there are a group of villages where these small but delightful hook racks were made with confronted birds, decorative hooks cut out of tin and painted gold. The blue and white colouring with spots and wavy lines is also a delight, it's like something made by the painter Geoff Rigden or a variation on a Picasso construction in his Cubist phase. Great condition, has shelf and hooks, and really useful especially in the kitchen for spices, keys, mugs. But take care of it as it is a gem of old European folk art.
