Naive Portrait of Young Girl with Spaniel
Ref: 1383
A charming oil on board from 1842 showing a young girl in pink dress and bonnet with her affectionate springer spaniel puppy. Sweet without being saccharine, pleasing colour, an attractive looking subject, this painting has oodles of appeal and ticks all the boxes as far as a good decorative portrait is concerned. It is in excellent original condition and has not been over-cleaned and is without re-touching, knicks or scratches. In original oak frame that has some discolouration of varnish that is easy to rectify. No details of sitter′s identity but an English town in the valley and the date 1842 pencilled to rear and with old newspaper protecting the board.
