Hand Carved and Painted Curlew Decoy
Ref: 1638
A lovely hand made craftsman made bird decoy. It is carved from wood and painted in natural colours with convincing age-effect, mounted on metal pole on a base carved out of driftwood and with a real cockle shell as a nice touch. A curlew it seems rather than an avocet whose bill curves the other way.
A sculpture carved and made from found materials, a one-off from the workshop of the artist, full provenance available. A collectable piece for the future.
