Rare Antique Rustic Food Cupboard Dresser
Ref: 0884
A stunning piece made of pine and hardwood, and unlike anything i have seen before.
All original features and colour have been retained. A very early look if only surprisingly 19th century. Panel ended, wood slatted to the doors of the upstairs cupboard rather than glazed. The plate rack at top is with wooden carved date, "1877", which may signify that is a marriage piece.
The metalwork is also early and overall this pieces suggests that this piece was restored and later dated or that in remote and isolated country areas older ways of making furniture persisted. An English dresser of this construction would be dated George III. The handles and escutcheons are 19th century but may not be original.
Lovely patina. Shelf to interior.
