Large Antique Pine Farmhouse Dresser
Ref: 1042
A really substantial English antique pine dresser from a big old farm/manor house in
Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire. The house was given to a religious order in the 19th century and the dresser has stayed well preserved and in pride of place in the convent ever since (until 2011). It is over-sized being over 7 and a half foot high and long. It comes in two parts and one of its best features is the substantial rack with deep and strong shelves.
These types of dressers are sometimes called dairy dressers and the rack was not for displaying the best plates and china but for holding storage vessels and jars. This piece would suit a kitchen but could be a centre piece of a living room too and hold a large collection of books or other decorative ornaments with room to spare. Excellent original condition and re-finished in smart contemporary colours but in antique style.
