Original Painted Primitive Windsor Chair
Ref: 1623
A stick legged thick seated elm and hardwood windsor chair. Sometimes called a famine chair. Mostly elm. Or elm and ash. Traces of original green paint and later layers of paint, unwaxed, create an attractive effect. A chunky solid seat and nicely polished scrolled arm rests in elm with one early addition to right hand arm rest where the owner must have decided they wanted a little bit of additional platform for their elbow!
