Antique Primitive Windsor Chair

An antique Irish country chair, made of ash with thick slab seat probably elm. It is a good example as it is in complete and original condition and with attractive old green paint. Probably early 19th century, and variously termed a Famine, Fool′s or Hedge chair meaning it is an indigenous Irish peasant creation and therefore necessarily rare.
