Georgian Painted Pine Bank of 4 Drawers
Ref: 1765
An unusual pine bank of four drawers, an original shop piece with all original drawer liners and handles and wide horizontal backboards all indicating an 18th century date. Later paint removed by hand leaving an attractive surface of aged wood and paint traces.
Comes with hand written provenance conjuring up visions of old times like something out of Eliot or Dickens: "In this chest Dansie Berry (1785-1860) retired weaver turned tea dealer kept his stock of teas (probably herbal)".
